Dundee is Scotland’s fourth largest city and is situated approximately 60 miles North of Edinburgh, and 67 miles south of Aberdeen and has a population of 143,390 (General Register Office for Scotland (GROS) 2009 Mid-year Population Estimate). Dundee has a sizeable student population, and is home to the University of Dundee, the University of Abertay Dundee and Dundee College. Dundee is a key hub for public transport between Scotland’s major cities; Dundee’s main station is an important stop on the East Coast Railway Line with regular services to the south and north and is well served by bus services. The train station is undergoing a significant transformation as part of the Waterfront Development. To the west of the city centre is Dundee City Airport with regular flights to London City airport. Dundee is at the heart of the road system to the East Coast of Scotland with the M90 providing access to Edinburgh, Glasgow and the south and the A90 north to Aberdeen.
